Long Ago...

We met at Green River Community College in the spring of 2017 in an English Short Fiction class after we were assigned to the same group project. Once we were chastised for talking too much in class, we decided to have a casual dinner together, which was quickly followed by a formal first date that started with pizza and ended with ice cream at sunset. As both our moms like to call us, these two "old souls" determined early on (the third date to be specific!) that they were in it for the long haul. From adopting two cats, pursuing an education, to growing as individuals, we couldn't feel luckier to navigate life together as partners.

The Proposal

After 6 years of love and happiness, we went together to "just look" at rings when Emma found the one that clicked. Justin knew Emma didn't want to wait any longer, so instead of the extravagant equestrian trail ride planned for the summer, he designed an elaborate scavenger hunt on Groundhog Day of 2024—just two months after purchasing the ring. Amidst happy tears, Emma solved dozens of clues that painted the story of our journey together. Our special, private moment was celebrated with an exquisite dinner at the best restaurant in town and a few rounds of pool.
